Dear Colleague,

It is a true pleasure to invite you to the 16th European Congress of Internal Medicine in Milan. The Congress will take place at the University of Milan on 31 August – 2 September 2017.
Milan is a seething metropolis in the heart of Europe, the home of fashion, industry and design, old and modern art collections, unparalleled shopping and one of Europe’s biggest trade fair centers. There is no better place to discuss exciting internal medicine topics and learn about recent progress in a pleasant environment.

The main objective of EFIM is to promote internal medicine and enable internists to provide better care for patients across Europe. Management of elderly individuals with multiple chronic conditions in a safe and cost-effective manner has become a major challenge for physicians. While internal medicine continues to advance, the provision of health services to patients is fundamentally a humane process. Therefore, the slogan of the 16th EFIM congress will be “Thinking outside the box in a world of limited resources”.

The congress will offer plenty of attractive opportunities for learning and networking in the field of internal medicine. This will be a great opportunity to meet internists from all over Europe and beyond and share the experience of practising internal medicine, which remains the cornerstone of every national health care system.
