Exchange ProgrammeThe European Exchange Programme is going from strength to strength and is becoming very popular and competitive among the Young Internists community. The feedback from the residents is excellent and the participating Centers and Tutors are also enjoying the experience. As you may know, the Exchange Programme of EFIM aims to provide opportunities for Young Internists to gain knowledge and skills. This is a chance to become more confident and self-reliant in your professional life and to better understand the realities of others European countries. Each National Society can select 5 candidates per year for the Programme. There are only 20 scholarships of 600€ offered to the participants, courtesy of EFIM and FDIME. For applications the candidate must fill in online application and submit the requested documents below. 1) Application form: http://www.efim.org/efim-exchange-program-application-form The deadline for Phase I application is open now. We are expecting to receive your application between 1st of October - 1st January 2018 for the 1st half of 2018. A list of the participating Departments of Internal Medicine across Europe and an information brochure can be downloaded here. The Exchange Programme is the new flagship of the European Federation of Internal Medicine... do not miss this great opportunity! Participation to the Internal Medicine Schools organized by EFIM Each year, the European Federation of Internal Medicine organizes two courses in internal medicine. They are called the EFIM Winter and EFIM Summer School. These schools are held over a five-day period in a single centre with appropriate facilities. The academic format includes interactive seminars, case presentations and workshops, and a social programme as well. Participants are selected and sponsored by their national societies to attend the School. The Belgian Society of Internal Medicine has always encouraged trainees in internal medicine to participate to these events. In the past, sponsoring was linked to an award won at the occasion of the annual congress. From now on, however, the Society will invite two trainees each year to participate to one of these Schools. Selection will be based on a written motivation by the trainee, including a CV. Candidates should be in internal medicine training in Belgium, and have a regular membership of BSIM. More details on the Schools can be found at www.efim.org/events/schools. If you are interested to participate, then please send your candidacy to Isabel.vandorpe@bsim.be before February 28th for the Summer School, or before September 30th for the Winter School. |
